I finally got my new bike, and although it may be 'The cheapest bike Gary Fisher will put his name on' it is a pretty sweet ride. As it will be my daily ride to work, and not used off road in the traditional Mountain Bike fashion, I had some cool rubber put on it..... It rides like a dream in town, not hard to ride at all like a Mountain Bike, there is almost no rolling resistance on my sweet slicks!
First of all the bike is called a Gary Fisher Tarpon, in Silver metallic, made of lightweight alloy, and because I'm using it as a short journey mobile, I chose a 16" Frame, just big enough to be comfy for me (5' 10"). The gears are all Shimano, including the sprockets and derailluer, which is pretty good value, as most 'entry level' pushbikes may have Shimano shifters, the gears and stuff are usually cheap knock-offs. The bike is a hard tail, with SR Suntout M2025 front shocks. The thing that makes this bike for me is that I had the tyres changed out when I bought it from the standard Mountain Bike knob tyres to a more city friendly Maxxis Xenith 1.5 Slicks. To finish up I got a 888 Skate helment....sweer. Check it out:
